July & the Painting Desk

A far more productive month, but not as much as hoped.

So we already know about the 33 Americans I painted earlier & published here. I mentioned the Germans in a post a few days back so here are the shots to prove it. Thirty six Germans in four companies of nine to represent the first battalion of the 67th Bavarian infantry. To distinguish them I've painted the sword knots in the correct sequence - first battalion had a white slide with white knot for the first company, red for the second, yellow for the third and blue for the fourth.

I've also completed the first ten of regiment Navarre for my 28mm WSS project. This is the final battalion for the French (and indeed the last I intend to purchase for this period). Funcken shows then with a very light grey coat and so I used Dove Grey for the final layer with the creases painted in using GW Codex Grey.

Finally I've also finished the first battalion of my friends Austrian 15mm project. Regiment Ragosky carries the regimental colour - I intend to paint a second battalion carrying the colonels colour. Dark blue facings, waistcoat and breeches matched with green stockings finish them off. I decided to give the officers and nco's standard coats rather than the reverse colours that would have been worn before 1704.

So painting wise that's 93 points of figures for the month (not inlcuding the 84 bases I redid for the Americans - so if we say 0.5pts for each that would give another 42 points). Grand total for the month then is 135 giving me 467 for the year so far.

Your desk is as clean as mine - yet you paint far more... Keep cranking them out!
