Moby Dick returns

The return of the great white whale (now rather more pink than white) from a glorious week in Mallorca.  Excellent hotel - Cala Vinas - outside of Magaluf so away from the drunken British youth.  Week of hot sun (never below 32) and warm seas.

Over the last seven days I've done very little other than swim and try to get a healthy tan (sun factor 30+ given recent scares over my health).

I did read one book.

This is a rubbish book - very predictable and formulaic.  Basically it has the Moorish invasion of France being successful and actually went as far as England.  Following two hundred years of occupation England rises up and throw the Moors out.  Unfortunately Europe was saved from the Moors by the armies of the Moghul Empire who in turn tame the English.  Two hundred years of occupation by the Indians later and the English rise up once more. Into this rebellion enters Jack Casey, exarmy scout and native mystic who is torn between saving his daughter and in turn betraying his country or joining the rebellion and sacrificing his daughter.  Unless you get it for free don't bother.

I did have lots more books on the Kindle app for the Ipad but there was a problem.  Unlike my Kindle, which can be read in bright direct sunlight, the Ipad does not like sunshine and was just about impossible to read.  So that left me with a snorkel and myMP3 as the only other sources of relaxation during the day.
